La Federazione Malattie Rare Infantili, dal 2000, sostiene la ricerca e lacura delle malattie rare infantili, attraverso una serie di iniziative checonsentono di superare le difficoltà di ordine bio-psico-sociale che i pazientie i loro familiari si trovano a dover affrontare a causa della “rarità” dellaloro patologia. La nostra Federazione, che comprende 13 Associazioni erappresenta migliaia di pazienti e familiari coinvolti nell’universo dellemalattie rare, contribuisce a finanziare importanti ricerche bio-mediche alivello internazionale, le attività di Laboratorio e l’acquisto di macchinari,sostiene giovani ricercatori che lavorano presso l’Ospedale Infantile ReginaMargherita di Torino e offre consulenze gratuite a pazienti, familiari e operatori sanitari che ne fannorichiesta.

“Incont-rare” è uno spazio di ascolto dove i pazienti affetti da una malattia rara e i loro familiari possono ricevere, atitolo gratuito, consulenze individuali oppure partecipare a incontri di grupponei quali manifestare i loro bisogni e le loro emozioni negative generate daidiversi aspetti della patologia rara. L’equipe del progetto che comprende medici,psicologi, assistenti sociali e counselor, hal’obiettivo di offrire uno spazio in cui trovare un ascolto e un sostegno non giudicanti, condizioni che facilitano i momenti di elaborazione delle problematiche legatealla malattia e delle modalità per intervenire, laddoveè possibile, con tutti i mezzi che si hanno a disposizione.
